Peter Cameron Scott founded Africa Inland Mission in 1895. But that may have never happened if his first dream had materialized. Having heard and been moved by D.L. Moody’s singing at one of his meetings in Scotland when he was younger, Scott sought a career in the Opera after his family moved to America. In God’s providence, for the good of Africa, his parents immediately put an end to that pursuit!
My sister recently alerted me to an email devotional she had received that gives a short but powerful account of the hope that enabled Peter Cameron Scott to overcome agonizing hardship and to do the impossible for the hidden peoples of Africa.
God has a people in every people group. He will call them with Creator power. And they will believe! What power is in these words for overcoming discouragement in the hard places of the frontiers!
