Same Purpose, New Name

The website we created to communicate with all of you is now ten years old! How can that be? Jonathan wrote about why we chose that name back in January 2016. So, after ten years of sharing life and ministry through onourwayrejoicing.com, we’re stepping into a new season with a new name and a new look – at least partially.

When On Our Way Rejoicing began, we were preparing to serve missionary families at Rift Valley Academy. Those years shaped us deeply as we poured ourselves into students’ lives—busy, stretching, life-giving, difficult, beautiful, joyful, pushing us always to depend more on the Lord.

But God has continued to lead us forward.

As we’ve moved from caring for missionary families to planting a church in Nairobi, we sensed it was time for a name that more clearly reflects both our calling and our hope. A name that says, plainly and joyfully, what we believe is at the center of everything.

So we’re grateful to introduce goodnewsgreatjoy.org.

Our new name comes from the announcement that changed the world: “I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.” Joy remains at the heart of what we do—but now we want to be unmistakable about its source. Our joy flows from the good news itself: the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Our new logo is meant to tell that story visually. At the center is the cross—solid, clear, and unmovable. From that center, joy radiates outward like the sun, a reminder that the gospel is not only true, but life-giving, warming, and meant to be shared. Thanks to Joel Dirnberger for another great logo!

The name is different. The look is new. But the purpose is the same.

We are still committed to pointing people to Jesus, sharing how God is at work, and rejoicing in the good news that brings true and lasting joy. Thank you for walking with us through the years—and for joining us as we step into this next chapter.
